We have been so busy. Baseball started last month- yes, February!!! So, Jeff and Carson have been very busy gearing up for their first tournament this weekend and the regular season games which start in late April. They have been practicing up at Celebration (when the wonderful KS weather cooperates). Cal and I try to watch, but after 10 times of him picking up bats and running onto the field when the boys are hitting, I decide that's it. We use it as a great excuse to go play at the park. He loves the slides and the swings. He usually winds up with some momento of our visit, either faceplanting into the woodchips or trying to jump off the gym. He's a little daredevil! Here are some pics from recent visits.
In addition to baseball, Carson is also preparing for his second year competing in the Kansas Jr. Picking and Singing Competition, which is April 9th. If anyone can make it, I'm sure he would love the support. It's at 1:00 pm in Osawatamee.
Cal is such a toddler now. He is talking so much and repeats everything! Plus last Sunday, March 20- he decided to show us that he could climb out of his crib. I walked in to greet him in the morning, it was odd that he hadn't woken up before 7:30 am. He said, "hi mommy" and smiled. As I went to grab a diaper, he proceeded to lift his leg over the side and climb like a monkey. He would've made the drop, except I caught him in mid air. Needless to say, we decided we needed to convert his crib to the toddler bed. I was really sad about it, and it's been a rough transition. He has woken up every night since between 4-5 am screaming at his door. I think he's had 2 nights where he stayed in his bed all night. We're hoping this passes quickly. Here's naptime in his big boy bed. And, though he's not ready- we decided to start getting him comfortable with a potty. Here's a pic of him reading...lol. He's such a Davis=)
